Privacy Policy

Chrometry ("the app") is designed to work entirely on your device. This policy describes what data the app handles and — more importantly — what it does not.

Short version: Chrometry doesn't collect your data. No account, no cloud sync, no analytics, no ads. Everything — your photos, your scans, your history — stays on your device.

Data we collect

None. Chrometry does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. Specifically:

No account. There is no sign-up, login, or user profile.
No cloud sync. All scans, pool/spa/aquarium/water profiles, and history are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). Nothing is uploaded.
Photos stay on your device. Camera and photo library access is used only to capture or select images of test strips for on-device analysis. Images are never transmitted anywhere. If you choose to save a captured image, it is saved to your own device's photo library — nothing else.
No analytics or tracking. Chrometry does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK, and does not share data with any third party for advertising purposes.
No cross-app or cross-site tracking.

Network requests the app does make

Chrometry periodically downloads publicly available configuration data — test-kit presets and reference color profiles — from a public GitHub repository, so new/updated kits can ship without an app update. These are one-way downloads of public files; no information about you, your device, or your data is sent as part of these requests.

In-app purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Chrometry does not receive or store your payment information — Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children's privacy

Chrometry does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data from anyone. The app is not directed at children specifically.

Changes to this policy

If Chrometry's data practices ever change (for example, adding an optional analytics or cloud feature), this policy will be updated first, and the in-app description of what's collected will always match what's declared here and in the App Store's Privacy Nutrition Label.
